Pro-Strain
Tornado’s Pro-Strain fencing system has been designed following extensive feedback from some of the UK’s top contractors. The brief was for a galvanised steel straining post and strut system that could be adapted to suit a wide variety of ground conditions and topography whilst overcoming some of the limitations of existing systems. Each kit contains:
- 1 x Straining Post
- 2 x Breast/heel Plates
- 4 x Bolts and Nuts
- 1 x Post cap
Straining/turning posts
Manufactured from 89mm x 3mm OD tube for increased strength and resistance to movement. They are pre-drilled with 13.5mm holes to enable heel and breast plates to be fitted and a 12mm hole for the strut coupler.
Breast/heel plates
Designed to improve resistance to movement in the ground and manufactured from 250 x 250 x 4mm galvanised plate and drilled to take M12 x 110mm high tensile fixings. One should be bolted to the rear of the straining posts in the bottom holes (heel plate) A second plate should be bolted to the front of the straining posts in the other set of holes (breast plate). A plate should also be bolted to the front on the ‘strut peg’ to work as an additional breast plate.
Larger plates 350 x 250 x 4mm are available as an option when working in soft ground.
Note: Although the bolts are designed to shear if they hit an immovable object underground. If working in chalk it is advisable not to fit the heel plate, however the breast plate should still be fitted to help prevent the post from twisting.
