Points to consider

Growing in grow bags rather than in the ground has the following benefits:

• Reduces pests and diseases
• Easier to access the crop when watering, tending and picking so no bending.
• Allows better control over the general nutrition for each plant if not in the ground

Using Tornado net over other options has the following benefits;

• Tornado strawberry net is cheaper than steel troughs
• People used to use grow bags placed on timber tables but the tables rot and are also expensive
• Plain wire can be used (3 or 4 strands of plain wire to create a similar effect) however the grow bags are not as secure as the net. The workers often knock the grow bags out of the wire whilst they are moving about the poly tunnel and the bags land upside on the floor damaging the crop. This does not happen when using Tornado strawberry net.
